Job Description - Family Interventionist (25001276)

Position: Family Interventionist

Location: Psychology - Pennsylvania-Pittsburgh - (25001276)

The University of Pittsburgh's Dietrich School of Arts & Sciences is currently seeking a qualified Family Interventionist. This is a full-time position that will serve as a Family Check-Up Family Interventionist for the Hello Baby initiative, which aims to support parents of infants and toddlers in Allegheny County who have faced multiple adversities. Families will be enrolled through Allegheny County’s Department of Human Services and typically will be seen at their home in-person or through telehealth.

Responsibilities:

1. Learning and applying the Family Check-Up, an evidence-based parenting intervention that incorporates motivational interviewing, family systems, and parent skills training.
2. Managing a caseload of approximately 7-10 families each week, averaging 40-45 new families each year.
3. Attending individual and group supervision and staff meetings.
4. Collaborating with other intervention staff and community partners.
5. Appointment scheduling and record-keeping.

This position requires excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of individuals and constituencies.

Minimum Requirements:

1. Master's Degree.
2. No prior experience required; however, preferred candidates will have at least one year of clinical/counseling experience with strong clinical skills.
3. Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work with various clinical, community, and organizational partners.
4. Ability to use Microsoft Suite (Word, Outlook, TEAMS, OneDrive, Excel) and make weekly home visits to families.
5. Valid driver’s license and reliable access to a personal vehicle for conducting home visits.

Physical Effort:

Individual must be able to drive a car, travel on and off campus, and be able to lift up to 30 lbs for occasional basic needs good drop-offs. Assistance for lifting basic needs goods can be provided.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm with occasional weekends and evenings and use of flex time to accommodate family schedules.

Hiring Range: $44,311 to $59,082 annually
