Job summary

House of Ruth seeks a Family Engagement Specialist to cultivate positive, therapeutic relationships with families enrolled in Kidspace. You will facilitate engagement, provide parenting support, and connect families with resources and services.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in social work or related field, experience with families, and strong interpersonal and organizational skills. This is a full-time, non-exempt position with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related field.
• Experience working with and supporting families.
• Ability to engage diverse groups and provide resources.

Responsibilities

• Recruits and orients new participants; greets parents and conducts home visits.
• Keeps enrollment records and manages waitlist; networks to fill slots.
• Completes forms and documents interactions; communicates with contacts.
• Links families to needed services and advocates for support.
• Develops/hosts workshops and parent events; models positive behavior.
• Supports Parent Board activities and participates in policy discussions.
• Assists with classroom coverage and crisis intervention as needed.
