Job summary

Easterseals Vermont seeks a Family Engagement Assistant to support families by transporting children and parents to needed services and facilitating safe, productive time together. The role involves office and community settings and requires strong communication and teamwork.

Training and supervision are provided. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle, and must pass a background check.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required; an Associate’s Degree is preferred but not required.
• Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and ability to pass a background check and fingerprinting are required.
• Your own reliable vehicle with insurance that meets our coverage limits is required.

Responsibilities

• Transport children and parents to services as needed and provide supported contact in office and community settings.
• Call family members when youth come into DCF custody to help develop a support network.
• Document work completed and collaborate effectively with team; training and supervision are provided.

We are looking for a Family Engagement Assistant to join our team! Our work is challenging, but we strive to create strong teams and love to learn and laugh together! As a Family Engagement Assistant, responsibilities include transporting children and parents to needed services as well as providing supported contact for children and parents within office and community settings, to allow separated families to have safe and productive time with each other. In addition, Family Engagement Assistants may call family members when youth come into DCF custody, to assist in the development of a support network for those youth and their families. While we work closely with Department of Children and Families - Family Services Division, we have our own separate and comfortable offices!

An ideal candidate would have excellent communication skills (phone and in-person), be able to document work completed and be a strong team player. Training and supervision are provided.

Qualifications

• This position requires a High School diploma or equivalent. (Minimum age of 18 years old.) An Associate’s Degree and experience in Human Services is preferred, but not required.
• Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and ability to pass a background check and fingerprinting are required.
• Your own reliable vehicle with insurance that meets our coverage limits is required.

Hours

This is a per diem position. Hours are based on the needs of the program.

Compensation

$18 hourly, with additional compensation based upon experience.
