Job summary

Easterseals Vermont seeks a Family Engagement Assistant to transport families to needed services and provide supported contact for children and parents in office and community settings.

This role involves coordinating with DCF Family Services, documenting activities, and working as part of a strong, family‑friendly team. Training and supervision are provided.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent (minimum age 18).
• Associate’s Degree and experience in Human Services preferred, but not required.
• Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and ability to pass a background check and fingerprinting.
• Your own reliable vehicle with insurance that meets our coverage limits is required.

Responsibilities

• Transport children and parents to needed services.
• Provide supported contact for children and parents within office and community settings.
• Call family members when youth come into DCF custody to help build a support network.
• Document work completed and communicate with team; work in a collaborative environment.

As a Family Engagement Assistant, responsibilities include transporting children and parents to needed services as well as providing supported contact for children and parents within office and community settings, to allow separated families to have safe and productive time with each other. In addition, Family Engagement Assistants may call family members when youth come into DCF custody, to assist in the development of a support network for those youth and their families. While we work closely with Department of Children and Families - Family Services Division, we have our own separate and comfortable offices!An ideal candidate would have excellent communication skills (phone and in-person), be able to document work completed and be a strong team player. Training and supervision are provided.Qualifications:This position requires a High School diploma or equivalent. (Minimum age of 18 years old.)
