Job summary

Institute for Community Living Inc. is seeking a Family Peer Advocate to provide engagement, bridging, and transition support for families caring for youth with behavioral health needs.

The role emphasizes trauma-informed, culturally competent practice and collaboration across service systems to enhance family empowerment. Essential duties include facilitating meetings, coordinating with providers, and helping families access resources.

Qualifications

• New York State Credentialed Family Peer Advocate (FPA) or CRPA-F required.
• Demonstrate lived experience as a parent or primary caregiver for a child in care.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Engage families and bridge between families and service providers.
• Connect families with appropriate services and accompany them to visits.
• Facilitate meetings between families and service providers.
• Assist families to gather, organize and prepare documents for services.
• Address barriers to full participation in services.
• Support families through transitions and crises to ensure continuity.
