Job summary

Lutheran Social Services of South Dakota is seeking a Family Development Specialist to support foster and adoptive families. You will assist with the licensing process and home studies, partnering with families to complete assessments and provide ongoing resources and guidance throughout adoption or foster licensure.

Role requires a bachelor’s degree in social work or related field and SD-licensed social work credentials; travel to multiple SD communities will be involved with mileage

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field required.
• Licensed Social Worker or Licensed Social Work Associate required by SD Board.
• Must be at least 21 years old and pass background checks.

Responsibilities

• Assist families in navigating the process to become a foster or adoptive resource.
• Complete home study assessments for prospective foster and kinship families.
• Partner with families to complete the home study process and provide resources.
• Collaborate with South Dakota DSS/CPS as part of Licensing Team.
