Job summary

Making Opportunity Count is recruiting a Family Development and Service Coordinator to support Early Head Start/Head Start families in Massachusetts. You will manage waitlists, enrollment, family reassessment, and provide high-quality engagement and social services aligned with Head Start standards.

You will coordinate referrals, transportation, and home visits, document progress, and collaborate with DCF and community partners.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or certification in social work, human services, counseling, or related field.
• Reliable vehicle and valid license, proof of liability vehicle insurance per EEC requirements.
• Willingness to attend trainings outside normal work hours.
• Bi-lingual staff must be able to speak, read and write in two languages.
• Good communication skills and ability to interact with diverse populations.
• Have computer proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, and data-based software.
• Organizational skills required in a fast-paced environment.
• Must have a suitable Background Record Check (BCR).
• Follow policies and procedures per Head Start and regulatory bodies.

Responsibilities

• Enroll and appropriately place children who qualify for childcare.
• Enter financial information for new and existing families into the CCFA system full day slots.
• Complete reassessments as due.
• Maintain financial/slot information and required EEC and program information in each child’s file.
• Conduct outreach, recruitment, and enrollment and inform parents of options and wait lists.
• Maintain communication with DCF social workers for supportive slots.
• Follow data management procedures including case notes, services, and referrals.
• Provide referrals and information on community resources.
• Arrange and attend case conferences as appropriate.
• Assist with arranging transportation for children and related activities.
• Orientate parents on MOC’s philosophy and services.
• Develop a Family Partnership Agreement and assist in setting goals.
