Job summary

Sage-Haus in Brooklyn, NY is seeking a Household Manager & Family Assistant to support a busy family with childcare, meal prep, and light household duties. This full-time role runs Monday through Friday, 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with occasional pet-sitting and date-night coverage.

You will manage school pickups, prepare meals, handle laundry, organize the home, and coordinate with vendors. Begin Sept 2026; 35–40 hours per week; pay is $38–$42 per hour on a W-2 basis.

Qualifications

• Maintain a smoke-free environment.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• CPR and First Aid certified, or willing to obtain prior to start.

Responsibilities

• Pick-ups/drop-offs for school, activities and playdates.
• Supervision and childcare; homework support as needed.
• Prep backpacks/clothing/snacks.
• Kid-related errands as needed.
• Date night coverage approximately once per week.
• Transportation to and from doggy daycare 2-3 days per week.
• Daily feeding and walks as needed.
• Administer medications (including Heartworm and other routine treatments).
• Maintain pet supplies.
• Flexibility for dog sitting when the family travels.
• Wash/fold/organize laundry.
• Ironing work shirts/steaming and special garment care.
• Prepare healthy family dinners 2-3 times per week with a leftovers mindset.
• Prep healthy snacks for child.
• Prepare school lunches as needed.
• Grocery shopping.
• Kitchen clean-up and daily maintenance.
• Create and/or maintain household organization systems.
• Daily resets and home prep for cleaners.
• Light tidying (dishes, surfaces, vacuum high-traffic areas).
• Seasonal clothing sorting and donation preparation as needed for child.
• Indoor plant care.
• Refresh entryway.
• Restock pantry/fridge/household supplies.
• Manage running household supply lists.
• Manage household orders and subscriptions (Target).
• Returns, dry cleaning, gift shopping, pharmacy pickup.
• Mail and package handling.
• Breakdown boxes.
• Awareness of family calendar (including household schedules and providing reminders).
• Receipt/budget tracking for expenses incurred as house manager.
• Comfort coordinating child appointments (annual pediatrician visit, dentist, orthodontist).
• Oversee cleaners/contractors/vendors as needed.
• Ability to research/coordinate repairs and quotes as needed; prior experience is a plus, but not required.
• Organizational projects (toys, gear, pantry, storage unit).
• Occasional deep cleans (fridge, oven, baseboards).
