Job summary

Durham County Government seeks a dedicated Social Services worker to support families with children in DSS custody. You will supervise visitations, transport clients to appointments, and provide in-home services such as budgeting and housing assistance.

Evening/weekend availability and a NC driver’s license with good record are required. Two-year associate degree with internship is preferred, with experience in human services a plus.

Qualifications

• Requires knowledge of community resources and ability to assess client needs.
• Experience in working with families and children is desirable.
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide supportive services to families with children in DSS custody; supervise visitations.
• Transport clients to medical, dental and therapy appointments.
• Provide in-home services in budgeting, housing, and daily living skills.
• Occasionally lead recreational activities or group classes when needed.
