Job summary

Canopy Children's Solutions in Mississippi is seeking a Family Advocate to serve as the primary link between families, community partners, and state agencies. You will follow the family map to connect families to services, educate and provide psychoeducation, and strengthen communities to help families stay together.

You will support families’ emotional well-being with empathy, provide information and referrals, and track progress using evidence-based practices within Canopy’s trauma-informed

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Ability to articulate concepts clearly to families.
• Active listening and problem-solving with families.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Experience with diverse communication styles and teamwork.
• Familiarity with MDHS, TANF, and state services.

Responsibilities

• Advocate and support youth and families.
• Create and sustain a family-driven approach.
• Provide families with information, advocacy, and activities.
• Provide psycho-education for families as needed.
• Assist families in crisis with referrals and supports.
• Represent families at team meetings and activities.
• Develop collaborative relationships with professional partners.
• Maintain cultural competency.
• Meet with program staff regularly and coordinate duties.
• Document services within 48 hours.
• Attend trainings and organizational orientation.
• Participate in quality assurance studies and program improvement.
• Market the Link Program in the community.
• Other duties as assigned.
