Canopy Children's Solutions is seeking a Family Advocate to serve as the primary liaison between families, community partners, and state agencies to connect families with essential services and supports.

The role emphasizes empathy, trauma-informed practice, and a family-driven approach, with duties spanning advocacy, psychoeducation, referrals, and collaboration across a multidisciplinary team to help children thrive in stable homes.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Clear communication with families.
• Ability to listen and solve problems with families.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Familiarity with MDHS and TANF or related services.

Responsibilities

• Advocate and support youth and families.
• Assist in creating and sustaining a family-driven approach.
• Provide families with information, advocacy skills and related activities.
• Provide psycho-education for families as needed.
• Assist families in crisis with appropriate referrals and supports.
• Attend team meetings and coordinate with supervisor.
• Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with professional partners.
• Maintain cultural competency.
• Document services within required timeframes.
