Overview
The Family Childcare Staff Member assists in providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children in a home childcare setting. The staff member supports the daily operations of the childcare, ensures the health and safety of all children, and contributes to the development and implementation of age-appropriate activities that promote learning and growth.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and interact with children at all times in a positive and respectful manner.
- Assist in implementing daily lesson plans and educational activities that support the curriculum.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children, following all state licensing and program policies.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and inviting environment, including sanitizing toys and materials.
- Support children’s emotional, social, and cognitive development through play and structured learning.
- Assist with meal and snack preparation following health and nutrition guidelines.
- Diapering, toileting, and assisting children with personal hygiene as needed.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with parents, coworkers, and the program director.
- Attend required training and maintained compliance with licensing requirements.
Qualifications
- Must meet Ohio state childcare licensing requirements for staff members.
- Experience working with young children preferred.
- CPR, First Aid, and Child Abuse Prevention certifications (or willingness to obtain).
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and actively participate in indoor and outdoor activities.
- Dependable, responsible, and committed to maintaining a positive learning environment.
- High energy.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
- A strong understanding of child development.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Must clear full background check.
