Job summary

The Social Impact Center Y, part of the YMCA of Greater Seattle, seeks a dedicated peer support professional to assist families with crisis outreach and in-home stabilization. You will coach parents, identify resources, and partner with care teams to meet action plans.

Location options include Bothell or Bellevue with a Monday–Friday schedule and flexibility for after-hours coverage. Responsibilities include crisis outreach, coordinating transport to appointments, and actively participating in

Qualifications

• Personal experience as a parent or custodian who has sought and received community mental health support.
• Trained in and familiar with the recovery model to empower families and youth.
• Experience serving families with emotional/behavioral challenges and knowledge of available services.
• Flexibility to work evenings/weekends; willingness to pursue certifications within a year.
• Ability to engage families and coordinate with clinical teams and community resources.

Responsibilities

• Provide immediate and scheduled crisis outreach to families in King County and surrounding areas.
• Work on-call shifts weekly and occasional weekend on-call coverage.
• Adjust schedule to evenings and weekends to meet family needs.
• Offer culturally competent, evidence-based peer support and parenting coaching.
• Identify resources and teach parents to navigate services effectively.
• Collaborate with colleagues and external professionals to meet action plan goals.
• Support transportation to appointments and participate in wraparound team meetings.
• Maintain current knowledge of mental health trends and complete required documentation.
