Job summary

Oregon Child Development Coalition (OCDC) seeks a Family Advocate to provide health and social services to children and families, including enrollment, home visits, and health screenings. You will coordinate with community agencies to ensure access to medical, dental, education, and support services.

The role involves planning parent events, facilitating translation, maintaining records, and advocating for families within Head Start.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• A credential in social work, human services, family services, counseling or related field is required.
• 1 year of health and/or social services experience or relevant admin/support experience is required.
• Complete Family Advocate Certificate Level 1 within 12 months of hire.
• 2 years of experience working with children and/or families is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct health and social services to children and families, including enrollment and health screenings.
• Coordinate with community agencies to connect families with resources and services.
• Plan and evaluate parent involvement activities and events.
• Maintain accurate records and monthly supervisor reports.
• Promote Head Start mission and advocate for families in the community.

Education

High school diploma or GED

Credential in social work, human services, family services, counseling

1 year of health/social services experience or admin/customer support

Family Advocate Certificate Level 1 within 12 months

2 years of experience with children/families
