Job summary

Broadlawns Medical Center is seeking a PRN Staff Nurse for 7p-7a to deliver comprehensive nursing care under supervision. The role requires coordinating with the health care team to maintain nursing standards and patient safety in a busy clinical setting.

Ideal candidates will hold an Iowa RN license, BLS certification, and be willing to participate in the Nurse Residency program if less than one year of RN experience. Ability to manage aggressive patients is required.

Qualifications

• Current RN license recognized by the State of Iowa Board of Nursing.
• Successful demonstration of competence in Basic Life Support (Health Care Provider) prior to independent patient care.
• Nurse Residency program for staff nurses with less than one year of RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintains nursing care standards and implements Center policies and Iowa Codes.
• Performs ongoing patient assessment and formulates age-appropriate care plans with interdisciplinary input.
• Implements care using evidence-based practices and evaluates patient outcomes.
• Directs and delegates tasks to nursing staff based on patient needs and staff capabilities.
• Administers medications and monitors effectiveness; responds in emergencies per protocol.
• Participates in orientation and ongoing performance improvement activities.
