Job summary

Mahler Private Staffing is seeking a warm, experienced Family Assistant for a busy Lincoln Park family. The role focuses on coordinating children's schedules, activities, and routines while maintaining an organized home.

Hours are Monday–Friday 1:00–8:00 PM, 35–40 hours/week, at $45–$55/hour, with a health stipend and paid time off. Parking and use of a house vehicle are provided; travel is not required.

Qualifications

• Must have experience as a nanny or family assistant in a private household with teenagers.
• Highly organized, detail oriented and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Proactive self-starter who takes initiative.
• Warm, engaging and comfortable connecting with children of different ages.
• Strong team player and respectful of family routines.
• Discreet with privacy and confidentiality; professional demeanor.
• Excellent judgment and emotional intelligence; calm under pressure.
• Dependable driver with insurable driving record; CPR/First Aid certified or willing to obtain certification.

Responsibilities

• Safely driving the children to and from school, sports, lessons, appointments and activities.
• Managing after-school routines including homework and projects.
• Coordinating family calendar and children’s activities and social plans.
• Researching and coordinating extracurricular and educational opportunities.
• Preparing simple, healthy gluten-free snacks and assisting with dinner prep.
• Managing deliveries, groceries, and household supplies as needed.
• Running errands for the family as required.
• Maintaining organization in children’s bedrooms, closets, and play areas.
• Taking initiative on household organization projects and partnering with parents.
• Being a collaborative partner with household staff.
