Job summary

Goddard Riverside Community Center in Manhattan is seeking a Family Worker/Family Advocate to support parents, caregivers, children, and families with needs. You will collaborate to strengthen parental capacity and engagement while connecting families to local education and social services.

Responsibilities include outreach, intake, eligibility determinations, workshop facilitation, and coordination of home visits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred.
• Family Development Credential or ability to register within 6 months and obtain within a year.
• Experience working with children and families from diverse communities.
• Ability to work with multilingual families; strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Outreach and recruitment, intake and enrollment, eligibility determinations, and maintaining an active waitlist.
• Monitor and document attendance; obtain and maintain health records.
• Co-develop and conduct parent workshops; facilitate monthly classroom meetings.
• Develop partnerships with outside agencies and assist families with navigating CPSE process.
• Support Kindergarten Transition and comply with Federal, State, and Local regulatory requirements.
