Job summary

Royal Caribbean Group is seeking an energetic host to lead shipboard recreational and entertainment programs for kids and families. You will serve as master of ceremonies, entertaining guests and guiding activities across multiple venues on the ship.

The role requires experience in entertainment or related fields, strong children-facing skills, and the ability to work in a dynamic cruise environment. High school completion is required, with a college degree preferred.

Qualifications

  • Two years master of ceremonies or professional entertainment (theatre, music, dance, comedy, etc.) experience with resorts, cruise lines, entertainment or recreational industries required.
  • At least one year experience working with children in a theatre, dance, recreational and educational settings.
  • Completion of high school or basic education equivalency required.
  • Degree from a college or university in theatre, performance, recreational, dance or education preferred.

Job description

Hosts and participates in shipboard recreational, entertainment programs geared towards kids and families. Serves as master of ceremonies to motivate, inform and entertain small and large groups of kids and families throughout their cruise vacation. Each shipboard employee may be required to perform all functions in various venues and throughout the ship.

Required Skills

  • Ability to provide highly efficient balloon making and face painting skills.
  • Ability to capture and manage the attention of a large group of people with effective and courteous microphone techniques.
  • Ability to provide basic instruction to a large group of people.
  • Working knowledge of computers, internet access, and the ability to navigate within a variety of software basic packages.
  • Ability to utilize customer service skills by exercising authority and discretion to satisfy guests in a manner consistent with Royal Way Brand Standards.

Preferred Skills

  • Activity class offerings preferred: dance instruction, craft classes, fitness classes, singing, etc.
  • Ability to provide a special talent or skill as a personal specialty class preferred.
