Job summary

Wayzata Public Schools is seeking a Special Needs Child Care Assistant to support Kindergarten through 5th grade students in a part-time role. You will assist lead teachers, participate in developmentally appropriate activities, and help create engaging learning moments on a daily basis.

The position offers a 2-6 pm schedule, school-year terms, and the benefit of free childcare for employees with K-5 students in Wayzata Public Schools, subject to availability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required.
• Reliable transportation.
• 1 year of experience with diverse groups of children.
• Physical ability to perform job duties.

Responsibilities

Your role will include:

Preferred Qualifications:

• Post-secondary education in child development, early childhood education, or a related field.
• Experience working with school-aged children with special needs in a childcare or education setting is highly preferred.
• Pay: $21.25per hour.

Locations & Shift Times:

• School year 2026-2027
• Part-time from 2-6 pm, Monday through Friday
• Sunset Hill and Oakwood
