Job summary

Kenowa Hills Public Schools is seeking a passionate Fall Play Costumer for the 2026 season. The Director will be responsible for all costumes for the production while fostering a positive, inclusive, and educational environment for students.

Responsibilities include designing costumes, providing renderings for approval, coordinating volunteers, and overseeing fittings, purchasing materials, and final dress rehearsals. A background check is required, with stipend per the district contract.

Qualifications

• Prior costuming experience required (school or community level).
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Flexibility for evening and weekend rehearsals/performances.
• Teaching certificate or prior school-based experience preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Designing all costumes needed for the show based on the needs of the Director.
• Providing renderings or detailed descriptions for approval.
• Coordinating costume volunteers.
• Overseeing measuring and fitting cast.
• Purchasing all materials needed to build costumes.
• Distributing materials to volunteers.
• Coordinating final fittings, changes and repairs.
• Attending all Dress Rehearsals.
• Managing costume budget and resources.
• Ensuring safe, inclusive environment for students.
