Position Summary

• Assist the Head Coach in providing a competitive environment that empowers student athletes
• Foster team building, reliability, adaptability, and sportsmanship
• Promote academic growth of athletes

Qualifications

• IHSA Coaching Certification (including related training such as concussion, harassment, CPR/AED, etc.)

Reports To

• Assistant Principal for Athletics, Assistant Athletic Director, or Head Coach

Responsibilities

• Communicate with Head Coach about duties and expectations
• Supervise equipment, facilities, transportation, and paperwork
• Promote team achievements and ensure compliance with rules
• Maintain professionalism, punctuality, and good rapport with staff, athletes, parents, and media
• Support school spirit and participate in other duties as assigned

Physical Demands and Environment

• Regular sitting, standing, walking, and lifting up to 30 pounds; moderate noise; fast-paced work environment
