Fall 2026 Legal Intern, Racial Justice Program
About the Role

Remote/Hybrid – New York City. The ACLU seeks a Fall Legal Intern for the Racial Justice Program in the National Office, New York City. This internship is for course credit only and may be remote or hybrid.

Qualifying applicants must be matriculated in law school, in the U.S., and able to commit for the full duration.

Responsibilities

The intern will conduct legal and factual research and support ongoing litigation, investigations, and advocacy efforts.

  • Conduct legal and factual research
  • Review and code discovery productions
  • Produce and edit memos, research reports, and draft briefs
  • Participate in team meetings
  • Embed principles of equity, inclusion, and belonging in all work

  • Excellent research, writing, and verbal communication skills
  • Initiative to see projects through to completion
  • Demonstrated commitment to public interest law, civil liberties, and racial justice
  • Commitment to the mission of the ACLU

Internship Logistics
