Job summary

Simtra BioPharma Solutions in Bloomington, IN, is seeking a CAD Operator to support day-to-day drawing creation and revision for our sterile injectable manufacturing operations. You will prepare electronic drawings using AutoCAD and related software to demonstrate regulatory compliance and train operators on processes.

The role requires an Associate degree in CAD and at least one year of CAD experience, along with proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and enterprise software (e.g., JDE,

• Minimum 1 year experience in Computer Aided Design.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and ability to use enterprise software (examples: JDE, BPLM, Pilgrim, Trackwise).

• Create and revise electronic drawings using AutoCAD according to latest industry standards and Baxter standards (manufacturing equipment, processes, assemblies, layouts and drawings from redline markups).
• Update and maintain departmental drawing binders.
• Print, file and scan drawings to update the Controlled Document System.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities.

Our Co-op students work closely with industry professionals and learn quickly how to problem solve on real-world projects that contribute to clinical research and manufacturing processes. In addition to on-the-job experience, we offer learning sessions with top leadership, site visits to local projects and social events.

The Opportunity:

The CAD Operator facilitates the creation, editing and completion of drawings required for the day to day operation of the Bloomington facility. Drawings are created and maintained to demonstrate to the various regulatory bodies that our operation is in compliance. In addition, these drawings are required to instruct the operators how to do their work.

The responsibilities:

• Create and revise electronic drawings using AutoCAD according to latest industry standards and latest Baxter standards (examples include, but are not limited to, drawings of manufacturing equipment, processes, machine assemblies, miscellaneous equipment, facility layouts and architectural drawings from redline markups and field verification.
• Update and maintain departmental drawing binders.
• Print, file and scan drawings on a continual basis to update the Controlled Document System.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities.

Required qualifications:

• Associates degree required in Computer Aided Design (CAD)
• Minimum 1 year experience in Computer Aided Design.
• Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook and the ability to use enterprise software (examples include: JDE, BPLM, Pilgrim, Trackwise, etc.)

Physical / safety requirements:

• Duties may require overtime work, including nights and weekends
• Use of hands and fingers to manipulate office equipment is required
• Position requires sitting for long hours, but may involve walking or standing for periods of time.
