Responsibilities

The Registered Professional Nurse at Northside Hospital independently plans and provides professional nursing care to patients according to physician orders, established guidelines, and within the scope of practice defined by the Georgia Nurse Practice Act. The Staff Registered Nurse positions are part of a progression from novice to expert, with responsibilities and competencies increasing at each level from Staff RN I to Staff RN VI. The Staff RN I role is included in the NSH Nursing Excellence Track (NEXT) Program. Level I nurses are competent and practice professional nursing across various clinical areas.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Certifications (Required)

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school and licensed as an RN in Georgia in good standing without limitations.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
• Additional Life Support certifications (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP) or other clinical specialty certifications relevant to specific units.
• Visual color acuity, depending on the role and specific unit requirements.

Work Hours:

7 PM - 7 AM
