Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Structures Technician (Falcon) for multiple shifts in Hawthorne, CA. You will perform modification, repair, assembly and installation of rocket components according to drawings, tooling instructions and quality standards.

Required are a high school diploma or equivalent and 1+ years in assembly or related fields; preferred experience includes military or aviation manufacturing, high-volume production, and proficiency with hand and power tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency.
• 1+ years of experience in assembly, manufacturing, military, automotive, or construction OR certificate from an accredited trade school program in A&P, manufacturing, and/or electronics
• Experience gained through the military or aviation manufacturing is preferred.
• High-volume manufacturing experience is preferred.
• Experience drilling, reaming, honing and/countersinking holes.
• Experience using hand tools and power tools.
• Ability to visualize 3D from 2D drawings and read engineering notes.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic and layouts.
• Experience reading engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Experience operating computing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Modification, repair, assembly, and installation of rocket components per drawings.
• Use tooling per drawing or instructions.
• Align parts and secure in place with clecos or clamps.
• Check edge margins and alignment.
• Drill and countersink holes to correct sizes.
• Disassemble parts and deburr holes for fasteners.
• Apply sealant and finishes per spec.
• Install fasteners and ensure correct sequence.
