Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Launch Engineer in Falcon Engineering to advance Falcon 9 vehicle checkout, integration, testing, and launch activities at our Vandenberg, CA site. You will lead hands‑on assembly and collaborate across engineering teams to ensure flight readiness and rapid rocket reuse.

You will develop procedures, identify high‑risk processes and drive improvements while guiding field technicians and designing tooling to streamline operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
• 1+ years of hands‑on experience with mechanical, electrical and/or fluid systems in design, manufacturing, or implementation phases.

Responsibilities

• Process Falcon 9 flight vehicles for rapid and reliable reuse, integration and launch.
• Develop and execute procedures for checkout and integration of new and flight‑proven rockets and ground support equipment.
• Assist with and lead hands‑on assembly, integration, and testing of new and flight‑proven vehicle assemblies.
• Lead on‑site operations with SpaceX engineers to resolve off‑nominal test results and ensure flight readiness.
• Partner with skilled field technicians on a daily basis.
• Design and develop tools and hardware to enable vehicle assembly and testing.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in engineering

Advanced engineering degree (mechatronics, mechanical, aerospace, electrical, computer engineering)
