Job summary

Cristo Rey Richmond High School, Inc. is seeking a Substitute Teacher to provide classroom instruction and supervision when a regular teacher is absent.

You will follow the teacher's plans, maintain a safe learning environment, and support academic and faith formation for students under school leadership guidance. Responsibilities include implementing lesson plans, ensuring attendance, and coordinating with staff to maintain classroom routines.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow lesson plans, communicate directions clearly, and manage a secondary classroom.
• Strong judgment in sensitive matters and ability to follow school procedures.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills in a diverse school community.
• Basic working knowledge of Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and school technology used for assigned duties.
• Commitment to Catholic college preparatory education and willingness to support the school's faith-based culture.

Responsibilities

• Uphold School Culture and Cristo Rey mission, vision, and values.
• Supervise students during the day and through transitions, Mass, and assemblies.
• Communicate professionally with students, families, and staff; protect confidential information.
• Support the Corporate Work Study Program as part of student learning and growth.
• Arrive on time, review plans, take attendance, implement lesson plans, and provide progress reports.
• Maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment and address behavioral concerns per school procedures.
• Leave classroom organized and provide necessary accommodations for students with documented learning needs.
• Monitor student work and provide feedback to the regular teacher.
