This role requires a bachelor’s degree in education or equivalent and active Catholic standing, with catechist certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education and/or 2+ years as Catholic Religious Education Director/Coordinator.
• Active, practicing Roman Catholic in good standing.
• Confirmation received; Catholic priest or pastoral reference required.
• Archdiocese for the Military Services catechist certification required.
• Experience leading Catholic education programs for children through adults.
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and with ecumenical/interfaith teams.
• Reliable transportation and telephone access.

Responsibilities

• Plan and maintain annual Catholic religious education calendar.
• Coordinate classes, catechist training, and parent programs.
• Organize First Reconciliation, First Communion, and Confirmation prep with retreats.
• Support adult faith formation and seasonal programs.
• Coordinate a four- to five-day Catholic camp during summer.
• Recruit, train, and support catechists, teachers, volunteers.
• Ensure volunteers complete background checks and child-protection training.
• Maintain attendance records, program files, schedules, reports, and supply inventories.
• Coordinate curriculum, budget, facility, and supply requests with Chapel staff.
• Ensure curriculum complies with Archdiocese for the Military Services and USCCB requirements.
• Attend Sunday classes and events, arriving 30 minutes before start.
• Follow Air Force, installation, chapel, safety, and security requirements.
• Participate in occasional travel for meetings, conferences, or training.
