Job summary

Indian Rocks Church and School seeks a dedicated substitute teacher to support middle and high school students in the absence of the primary teacher. The role emphasizes Christian character, continuity of curriculum, and safety within the classroom.

You will implement prepared lesson plans, reinforce Biblical principles, and report daily activities to the regular teacher. A strong Christian lifestyle and church involvement are expected as part of the role.

Qualifications

• Education and experience: a High School Diploma or GED is required; an Associate’s degree or coursework in Early Childhood Education is preferred.
• Prior experience working with children in preschool/elementary settings is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, lesson plans, and procedures; ability to write required reports and correspondence.
• Demonstrate a consistent Christian lifestyle per the Mission Statement and Leadership Guidelines of Indian Rocks.
• Willingness to become an active member of Indian Rocks Church and participate in church activities.

Responsibilities

• Reflect the school's purpose: Honor Christ in every class and activity.
• Motivate students to accept God's gift of salvation and help them grow in their faith.
• Lead students to realize their self-worth in Christ.
• Cooperate with the administration to implement policies and directives.
• Implement lesson plans left by the absent teacher to ensure curriculum continuity.
• Incorporate Biblical principles throughout activities.
• Maintain classroom discipline and a safe learning environment.
• Leave a detailed day-end report to the regular teacher.
