Job summary

Bracken Christian School is seeking a School Bus Driver to provide safe, reliable transportation for students, staff and chaperones to athletic events and field trips, while modeling Christ-like conduct and a positive tone. Requirements include a High school diploma or equivalent, a valid Class B CDL with Endorsements P & S, and an excellent MVR.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• College degree preferred.
• Valid Class B CDL Texas with Endorsements P & S, no restrictions.
• Certification of state requirements by the Texas Department of Public Safety.
• Excellent MVR with no recent violations or at-fault incidents.
• Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Drive the bus along planned routes while following schedules and local laws.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of tires, brakes, lights, fluids and safety equipment.
• Maintain mileage logs, fuel receipts, inspection checklists and student rosters.
• Assist passengers, manage wheelchair lifts or secure mobility devices, and answer route questions.
• Enforce school bus rules with respect, accountability and kindness.
• Interact professionally with students, parents, teachers and administrators.
• Monitor behavior and respond to delays, weather, or emergencies.
• Report significant issues to the principal or administrator using established procedures.
• Notify Athletic Director or Head of School of delays or mechanical problems.
