Shelter House was established in 1981 as a grassroots responder to the homelessness crisis in Fairfax County. Since the organization’s inception, we have adapted and grown to meet community needs, all while working in partnership with government and private partners and community members. Today, Shelter House is a successful and reputable organization of over 100 employees committed to preventing and ending homelessness and domestic violence. About the Role:
The Shift Supervisor plays a critical leadership role in ensuring smooth operations and a safe, supportive environment at a large Fairfax County emergency shelter for families with minor children. The shelter consists of 85 units and approximately 344 beds. This position oversees a team of Residential Coordinators, providing direct supervision and support to staff on shift while ensuring consistency in client service delivery, crisis response, and shelter operations. The Shift Supervisor is the primary point of contact for operational decision-making during assigned shifts and ensures compliance with all Shelter House policies and standards.
