Job Description:

As a Field Applications Engineer, you will engage with clients to create technical solutions and build new business using your engineering expertise. You will drive design wins to revenue at assigned accounts by providing in-depth engineering support, including training, demos, proof of concept designs, and debugging client systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be an authority in embedded software tools, solutions, techniques, and Microchip MCU products.
  • Provide pre- and post-sales technical support for all product lines.
  • Utilize Microchip's Client Engagement Process to create and drive design wins.
  • Support technical and business relationships with assigned clients.
  • Develop technical skills in connected embedded systems.
  • Offer clients unique perspectives on technology linked to Microchip solutions.
  • Participate in global team strategies for assigned clients.
  • Communicate with Microchip product business units, providing feedback.
  • Conduct architectural and schematic reviews, design-in, and product training.
  • Manage multiple customer engagements simultaneously.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (e.g., BSEE, BSCE).
  • 8-12 years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong hardware and software debugging skills.
  • Ability to create content and deliver technical overviews, seminars, and workshops.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with microcontrollers, processors, and proficiency in C/C++.
  • Understanding of motor control, power conversion, DSP algorithms, analog signal chains.
  • Experience with RTOS, Linux, wired and wireless networks, and IoT platforms.
  • Understanding of embedded security, authentication, and encryption.
