Faculty Training Specialist
Rasmussen University
Online/Remote


The Faculty Training Specialist is responsible for the development, implementation, and successful delivery of training protocols, onboarding practices, and continuous improvement of faculty in all programs outside Rasmussen University's School of Nursing. The Faculty Training Specialist is responsible for new product and ed tech implementation training coordination, training faculty toward the successful application of best practices in teaching and assessment of learning, and equitable support for Rasmussen University learners. This role is expected to be highly collaborative with strong and clear communication across Academic Affairs centers and APEI educational units. The Faculty Training Specialist will collaborate with programmatic leaders on strategies supporting valid and equitable observation of faculty, new faculty onboarding, the operational implementation of effective teaching practices, and the evaluation of activities conducive to strong faculty and student outcomes. The Faculty Training Specialist will utilize end-of-quarter student evaluation data, faculty observation data, ASLOR/APR program review data, the latest in educator training literature, and other appropriate data to inform their strategies.


Responsibilities:



  • New faculty training and orientation (25%)

  • Faculty training related to the LMS and/or new educational technology (25%)

  • Faculty Development Week scheduling and events (25%)

  • Faculty observation/QA support, strategies, and framework (25%)


Reporting Relationships:


The Faculty Training Specialist reports to the Director of Training and Development. This role works collaboratively with the AVP of Faculty Excellence, the Associate Director of Faculty Training (SON), the Faculty Innovation Manager, and programmatic leadership to ensure faculty preparedness and effective, equitable teaching and assessment.


Requirements:



  • Master's degree in education from an accredited institution is required.

  • 2+ years of higher education teaching experience,

  • 1+ years of faculty management, dean, and/or programmatic leadership experience, and

  • Some experience successfully delivering faculty development sessions in web-based platforms to geographically dispersed educators.
