The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Pittsburgh is seeking to host a Visiting Scholar for a 12-month term. This position offers a unique opportunity for a qualified individual, particularly an early-career physician-scientist or researcher, to contribute to ongoing investigations in neuroscience, neuropsychiatric illness, and translational mental health research.
The Visiting Scholar will engage in collaborative research under the mentorship of the University of Pittsburgh faculty, with specific responsibilities that may include:
• Participating in studies related to biomarkers, neuroimaging, cognitive decline, or neurodegenerative diseases, depending on expertise and interest.
• Supporting data analysis, manuscript preparation, and dissemination of research findings.
• Contributing to lab meetings, academic discussions, and collaborative planning of research goals.
• Conducting all research activities in compliance with university and federal guidelines for the ethical conduct of research.
This is a paid academic appointment that provides the Visiting Scholar access to University resources, mentoring, and the opportunity to contribute to a high-impact research program.
Qualifications:
• MD, PhD, or equivalent in neuroscience, psychiatry, neurology, biochemistry, public health, or a related field.
• A demonstrated interest in neuropsychiatric or translational neuroscience research, as evidenced by prior academic work or clinical training.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• A proven ability to work collaboratively in research settings and a strong desire to contribute to academic scholarship.
