Primary Purpose:

Teaches and supervises nursing students at clinical training facilities, imparting cognitive, affective and psychomotor skills appropriate for the practice of professional nursing. Potential for scholarly productivity including articles in referred journals, invited presentations, paper and/or poster presentations at state and regional meetings; active participation in professional nursing organizations at local and state levels; active nursing professional experience to practice in the State of Florida.

Job Requirements:

Appointment to the rank of professor requires a record of distinguished scholarship and outstanding teaching ability, evidenced by recognized professional productivity in the field(s) of specialization.

Appointment to the rank of associate professor normally requires a record of substantial success in teaching, scholarship, and service.

Appointment to the rank of assistant professor requires completion of professional training, which in most disciplines will be a terminal degree (usually the earned doctorate), and the clear promise of a successful career in teaching, scholarship, and service.

Appointment to the rank of instructor requires completion of professional training, which in most disciplines will be a master’s degree, and the clear promise of a successful career in teaching, scholarship, and service.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • 1. May be exposed to short, intermittent, and/or prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing in performance of job duties.
  • 2. May be required to accomplish job duties using various types of equipment/supplies, to include but not limited to pens, pencils and computer keyboards.
  • 3. Must be able to lift at least 25lbs.
Required Certifications/Licensures:
  • 1. Active, unencumbered RN or ARNP license from any state in the U.S.
  • 2. An active Florida RN or ARNP License (or be eligible for).
Required Education:

Master's Degree

Required Experience:

Zero (0) to two (2) years of teaching experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1. Three (3) years of teaching experience.
  • 2. Ed.D., D.N.P. or Ph.D. in Nursing or closely related field.
