The Department of Medicine - The Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology & Nutrition at the University of Pittsburgh is seeking full‑time faculty at the levels of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor. Candidates may be non‑tenure, tenure‑stream, or tenured. Qualified applicants must hold a PhD and/or MD, have a proven track record of extramural NIH funding, and possess a strong publication record. Academic appointments, tenure status, and salary will be based on qualifications and experience.

Qualifications by Rank

• Assistant Professor – three or more years of experience in related scientific research; demonstrated ability to obtain external research funding; dissemination of results through peer‑reviewed publications and scientific forums; significant teaching experience; capacity for sustained career development, promotion, and tenure.
• Associate Professor – five or more years of experience in related scientific research; independent external research funding; substantial record of peer‑reviewed publications; significant teaching experience; capacity for sustained, impactful, and independent scholarly contributions and leadership.
• Professor – five to seven years as Associate Professor; recognized authoritative knowledge and reputation in a field of learning; superior stature in scholarship, professional practice, and leadership in professional and learned organizations.
