About the Job

The Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology at the University of Minnesota Medical School seeks a fulltime ABP board certified/eligible pathologist with an interest in gynecologic and breast pathology. Academic rank, compensation and appointment type will be based on qualifications and experience. Candidates must have demonstrated ability in teaching and in scholarly productivity. Minimum requirements are an MD or equivalent degree (D.O., MBBS, etc.), eligibility for medical licensure in the State of Minnesota, board certified or board eligible in AP or AP/CP, completion of an ACGME-accredited pathology residency training and a gynecologic and breast fellowship program.

This position will join a team of pathologists providing pathology service for patients served at M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center East and West and the Masonic Children's Hospital. Sign-out responsibilities, intraoperative consultations, autopsy service, resident and fellow supervision and conferences are shared with other surgical pathology faculty within the division of anatomic pathology. Leadership opportunities in education or digital pathology exist for qualified candidates.

Academic time will be used to pursue scholarly work in the candidate's area of specialty/research expertise. Preferred candidates will be active in their national organizations and foster an academic environment for medical students, residents, fellows and faculty.

The Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology is home to many anatomic and clinical pathology faculty as well as basic science faculty involved in research, undergraduate and graduate education. Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: This role is dually employed by the University of Minnesota and University of Minnesota Physicians. Salary at the University of Minnesota is dependent upon academic effort of the person hired, and begins at $55,000. Clinical salary, aligned with clinical effort, is provided through University of Minnesota Physicians. Total salary is competitive with market and based on AAMC salary benchmarks.
