Join Our Team as a Faculty Member in Behavioral Sciences at Concordia University Irvine

The Department of Psychology, Sociology, and Anthropology at Concordia University, Irvine, CA, is inviting applications for a full-time faculty position as Professor of Behavioral Sciences, starting July 2025. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellence in teaching and scholarship within behavioral sciences or related fields.

The faculty member will be responsible for teaching courses that serve the department and potentially contribute to Concordia's Enduring Questions and Ideas Curriculum (EQ&I). Additional roles include advising, mentoring, assessment, program recruitment, and university service. Concordia values individuals who embrace the Lutheran liberal arts tradition and will support the university's mission and objectives. Salary and rank will be based on credentials and experience.

Qualifications

• A broad-based doctoral degree (PhD preferred) in behavioral sciences with teaching and research experience is desired. A MA/MS in a behavioral science area is acceptable with relevant professional experience.
• Members of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod are preferred, but applications from individuals of other Christian denominations who confess the historic creeds are encouraged.

Position Details

This is a full-time position requiring presence on the Irvine Turtle Rock campus. The faculty member will teach courses in general education and major-specific classes, participate in departmental and campus events, and fulfill service responsibilities to the institution, community, and church. Continued academic scholarship is also expected.
