About the Job

The Department of Urology at the University of Minnesota Medical School seeks an individual for a full‑time clinical appointment at either the Assistant or Associate Professor rank. The appointment will be on an academic or clinician track. The successful candidate will provide patient care in pediatric urology, engage in clinical and/or basic science research, and undertake certain administrative duties. As an educator, the candidate should attract students and residents to urology/pediatric urology, including those from backgrounds traditionally underrepresented in surgery.

University of Minnesota Physicians is a multi‑specialty group practice for the faculty of the University of Minnesota Medical School and employs more than 950 physicians and 1,600 health professionals. It offers clinical care in over 100 specialty and sub‑specialty areas. The practice’s mission is to deliver exceptional patient care, advance medicine through research, and train the next generation of health professionals.

Income Details:

2‑year market competitive salary guarantee with the ability to exceed the production compensation program. The position is dually employed by the University of Minnesota and University of Minnesota Physicians; a separate application in UMP’s employment system is required.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications include an MD degree and board certification (or eligibility) in urology with added certification or eligibility for certification in pediatric urology. Successful candidates will have strong surgical skills and be sensitive to the needs of patients from diverse backgrounds.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: The salary for the University of Minnesota portion depends on the academic effort of the person hired, beginning at $52,000. Clinical salary aligned with clinical effort is provided through University of Minnesota Physicians. Total salary is competitive with market and based on AAMC salary benchmarks.
