Hartford HealthCare is seeking a board-certified Internal Medicine physician to join our academic primary care residency clinic as a faculty member. The role blends continuity care with resident education and program leadership, in a weekday schedule designed for career longevity.

You will lead teaching activities, mentor residents and students, and participate in curriculum development, quality improvement, and collaborative patient care with an interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Unrestricted State of Connecticut medical license (or eligible).
• MD or DO, BE/BC Internal Medicine.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience teaching Internal Medicine residents in outpatient clinics.
• Proven leadership experience in clinical operations, education, quality improvement, or administration.

The Role

We are seeking aboard-certified Internal Medicine physician (MD/DO)with experience teaching residents in an outpatient setting and a passion for leadership in academic primary care. This position blendscontinuity care, resident education, and program leadershipwithin a thoughtfully structured weekday schedule.

Practice Model

• Morning continuity clinics with your own independent patient panel
• Up to two learners (Internal Medicine residents and/or medical students) paired with you
• Afternoon resident clinic focused on dedicated precepting
• No double-booking of your personal patient panel
• Shared clinic call coverage within a collegial faculty group
• Back-Up Phone Call Only in rotation every 3rd to 4th week

What You’ll Do

• Deliver high-quality, comprehensive outpatient primary care to a diverse and underserved patient population
• Teach, supervise, and mentor Internal Medicine residents and medical students in the ambulatory setting
• Shape resident education through curriculum development, bedside teaching, and longitudinal mentorship
• Lead or participate in quality improvement initiatives and academic projects
• Take on leadership responsibilities within the clinic and residency program, aligned with your interests and experience
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team to continuously improve patient care and learner experience
