The Department of Biology at Utah Valley University invites applications for a lecturer position to begin in August 2027. We seek outstanding candidates to teach some combination of Cell Biology (BIOL 3400) and majors’ College Biology (BIOL 1610) as well as other courses in the Department of Biology as needed. In your cover letter please indicate which of these courses you are interested in and qualified to teach.

The successful candidate should demonstrate a strong commitment to effective undergraduate teaching utilizing engaging, data-driven pedagogies. Experience and interest in teaching primarily face-to-face or hybrid courses is a plus. • Teach, manage, and supervise individuals and groups in a classroom setting via demonstrations, discussion, experiential learning activities, and visual aids.
• Provide evaluation of learning through written and performance tests.
• Hold regular office hours and maintain a student-oriented approach to education.

Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications

• Graduation from a regionally accredited institution with a doctorate in a field related to the coursework being taught, OR a master’s degree plus two years of experience in a related discipline.
• Demonstrated successful teaching at the college or university level is required.
