Job summary

Primary Health Care, Inc (PHC) is seeking a Faculty Physician to educate and supervise residents in the Internal Medicine Residency Program while providing outpatient care services. The role involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care and adherence to healthcare regulations.

The ideal candidate will hold an MD or DO degree, be licensed in Iowa, and meet the board certification requirement within three years post-residency. A commitment to professional growth and a passion for teaching are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be board certified within three years after completing residency training.
• Experience providing outpatient care services.
• Ability to engage in scholarly pursuits and maintain an academic presence.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical care according to established standards and policies.
• Conduct patient evaluations via visits and telemedicine.
• Supervise residents’ patient care activities and provide constructive feedback.

Skills

Fluency in spoken English and Spanish

Experience in a community health center or teaching healthcare environment

Education

Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)

Physician license recognized by the State of Iowa

Tools

Basic Life Support certification

DEA Controlled Substances Registration

CSA Registration with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy
