Faculty Group Practice Medical Assistant (OB/GYN - IVF) *part-time*

Join our team as a Faculty Group Practice Medical Assistant (OB/GYN - IVF) *part-time* at NYU Langone Health.

Position Summary

The Medical Assistant supports physicians, Advanced Care Practitioners, and nurses in providing patient care. Responsibilities include validating patient identifiers, preparing examination rooms, recording vital signs, drawing blood, collecting lab samples, scheduling appointments, answering calls, and data entry.

Job Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare rooms for examinations.
• Measure, record vital signs, and obtain blood samples following organizational policies.
• Support quality initiatives and promote positive patient experiences.
• Communicate effectively with staff and providers, handle phone inquiries, and respond to inbasket messages.
• Assist with patient intake, transcribing visits into EPIC, and follow-up on prescriptions and referrals.
• Support clinical and administrative tasks, including maintaining cleanliness, stock supplies, and sterilizing equipment.
• Ensure patient privacy and comply with HIPAA standards.
• Participate in patient experience initiatives, embodying NYU Langone’s CARES principles.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent. Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program or current medical assistant certification from a recognized organization (AAMA, AMT, NCCT, NHA). Proficiency in English and computer skills are required. Ability to multitask and work well in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience as a Medical Assistant, with skills in EKG, phlebotomy, venipuncture, and OB-GYN/IVF procedures highly preferred.
