Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health seeks a Nursing Education Faculty member to develop, implement, and evaluate evidence-based simulation activities in the Learning/Simulation Lab in coordination with course faculty.

You will participate as a primary instructor or provide technical support, demonstrating nursing skills and using information technologies for teaching. A NJ RN license is required, with Doctorate preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Nursing, or Bachelor's in Nursing with a Master's in Healthcare field.
• Doctorate in Nursing or closely related field (PhD, DNP or EdD) preferred.
• Active New Jersey RN License or approved compact license required.
• Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) or CNE Clinical (CNEcl) preferred.
• Certified Health Simulation Educator (CHSE) preferred.
• Minimum two years of acute patient care required.
• Minimum one year of simulation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements, and evaluates evidence-based activities in the Learning/Simulation Lab with course faculty.
• Instructs or provides technical support to faculty during simulation sessions.
• Demonstrates nursing skills to students and uses technology to support learning.
• Provides tutoring and feedback to students on skill performance.
• Advices on library resources and adheres to professional conduct standards.

Essential Functions

Develops, implements, and evaluates evidenced-based activities in the Learning/Simulation Lab in coordination with course faculty. Participate in simulation activities as primary instructor or as technical support to faculty members. Demonstrates nursing skills and techniques to students. Use information technologies skillfully to support the teaching-learning process, including the use of high-fidelity human simulators. Utilizes critical thinking skills to effectively communicate information, observations and/or activities to appropriate individuals. Recommends additions and deletions to the library. Provides individual and small group tutoring in the Lab. Provides ongoing feedback to students related to their strengths and weaknesses in performance of skills. Demonstrates professionalism and sensitivity when interacting with students/peers. Serves as a role model for professional nursing and adheres to the Faculty Code of Conduct.
