Job summary

Johnson & Wales University in Providence seeks an experienced faculty member in physical therapy to provide an engaging academic experience, teach DPT courses, and contribute to curriculum development.

Qualifications

Doctorate in physical therapy from a CAPTE-accredited program or an earned doctorate from a regionally accredited institution (or a bachelor's/master’s with an earned doctorate).
Five+ years of clinical experience as a licensed physical therapist.
Five+ years of clinical experience treating patients with neurological or medically complex conditions.
Active Rhode Island PT license or eligibility to obtain licensure.
Experience teaching DPT students (clinical instructor).

Responsibilities

Demonstrates specialized knowledge and maintains expertise in PT theory, skills and pedagogy.
Delivers current and relevant course material in an understandable and motivating manner.
Assess course objectives and instructional methods to improve teaching and learning.
Conducts formative and summative assessments to inform instruction and program outcomes.
Advises students on program choices and career possibilities; supports educational growth.
Contributes to program and course improvements through data analysis and alignment with outcomes.
