The County College of Morris Foundation is seeking a full-time faculty member for the Design and Media Studies Department. This position involves teaching undergraduate courses across various design disciplines including Architecture, Interior Design, and Fashion Design.

The Design and Media Studies department seeks a dedicated faculty member to teach all levels of undergraduate interdisciplinary Design courses, including Architecture, Interior Design, Industrial Design, Fashion Design, and Fashion Merchandising. Possible course offerings include visual communication, emerging technologies in design industries, and concept‑based design.
Responsibilities include teaching, student advisement, revising and developing courses and curriculum, various administrative tasks, committee work, and collaborating with other programs and departments. Candidates should be willing to explore innovative methods and implement new methods of instruction and technology.
Master’s degree from an accredited design program, in a related field of Design, is required (MA, MFA, MID, M.Arch, MS, etc.). Candidates holding a bachelor’s degree in a related design field with 2+ years of professional experience, including 2 years of higher education teaching experience, who expect to complete a graduate degree within a design discipline, are encouraged to apply.
The ideal candidate possesses innovative thinking and has experience in teaching or practicing emerging technologies in design and visual arts. Prior college teaching experience is preferred; experience in teaching at a community college is desired. Candidates with a background in diverse areas of design and new digital media as it relates to design are preferred. Experience in online course development and online teaching is also preferred.
The candidate should exhibit curiosity to learn, explore, and innovate across the program. A commitment to foundational learning, digital, and critical thinking methods is required. A portfolio of both student and professional work should show evidence of teaching excellence and inclusive practices.
