Position Summary
The Department of Dermatology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking applications from clinician educators at all career stages to join our team of talented academic dermatologists. We are a group of dedicated clinicians committed to a shared mission of taking care of all the people of North Carolina, reaching underserved populations and reducing health disparities. We are also teachers dedicated to training future leaders in dermatology through our nationally renowned residency program. We have a proud tradition of supporting innovation and research and have historically ranked among the top ten dermatology programs in the nation in terms of NIH funding.
We offer flexibility to build a practice based on the applicant’s clinical interests, and we offer support for faculty to develop subspecialty expertise. We have a robust clinical program with outpatient sites in Chapel Hill, Hillsborough, and Raleigh, NC, inpatient consultation services, dermatopathology, Mohs surgery, laser services, phototherapy, and a clinical trials unit. We offer diverse state-of-the-art patient care and support numerous subspecialty and multidisciplinary clinics.
This position is being recruited as an open rank appointment at an FTE between 0.5 FTE and 1.0 FTE . The appointment will be offered as a fixed-term track appointment.
Applicants must have strong clinical skills and a commitment to academic dermatology with interest and skill in teaching and participating in the training of medical students and residents. Minimum Education And Experience Requirements
An M.D. is required. The successful candidate must be board eligible or board certified by the American Board of Dermatology. The candidate must have graduated from an ACGME -accredited dermatology residency. Position requires that the candidate be able to obtain a medical license in the state of North Carolina and be credentialed to practice medicine with the UNC Health Care System.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, And Experience
Applicants should have appropriate teaching skills that will enable them to function successfully in providing education and training experiences for residents and medical students in a major academic/health care environment as well as demonstrated clinical skills.
