Job summary

Saint Francis University Department of Chemistry invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in physical chemistry starting August 2027. Primary duties include teaching courses in physical chemistry (including laboratories), general chemistry (including laboratories), chemistry forhealth sciencestudents (general, organic, and biochemistry), and some laboratory preparation/equipment maintenance. Other dutiesinclude but are not limited to mentoring research projects, advising students, andcontinued professional development.

The successful candidate must have a PhD in Chemistry, a commitment to excellence in chemical education in the classroom and in the research laboratory, and preferably post-doctoral research experience. This new faculty member will join a vibrant ACS approved chemistry program and research community with opportunities for collaboration across campus and local industry. Dedicated research space is available in the 78,000-sf. science center.

Review of applications will begin in late October with phone and on-campus interviews planned for early November through December. Saint Francis University is a liberal arts institution, located in Loretto, PA about a 30-minute drive from Altoona, PA and Johnstown, PA.
