Responsible to prepare and deliver Chemistry coursework in engaging, innovative, and discipline-appropriate ways that reflect a commitment to student success, an understanding of culturally responsive teaching, and knowledge of the teaching field. Meets professional standards for faculty in accordance with college policies and procedures. Instruction will occur in the classroom face-to-face and in a variety of distance education modalities. This is a 10.5 month position that starts August 2027.
The Chemistry Department offers on-campus and online college credit classes across multiple ACC campuses. Courses offered include Introduction to Chemistry, General Chemistry I and II, General Chemistry for Engineering Majors and Organic Chemistry I and II. The Chemistry Department is united in its vision of providing the best possible learning environment for our students that develops their intellectual, ethical, social consciousness and leadership potential and produces students who are well equipped to enter the job market or Graduate/professional school.
Master’s degree in Chemistry; or Master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in Chemistry. In accordance with Southern Association of College and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) requirements. SACSCOC requirements may differ depending on the courses taught within the discipline.
Work is routinely performed in a classroom or laboratory setting. Subject to standing, walking, sitting, and reaching for extended periods of time. Work safely and follow safety rules. Salary Range $71,270 - $96,596 (Based on a 10.5-month Contract to start Fall 2027)
