The Department of Finance, Division of Real Estate in the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University invites applications for part-time Faculty Associate positions to teach undergraduate and/or Master’s graduate courses in the field of real estate. Areas of instruction may include real estate fundamentals, appraisal, law, land development, investments, financial analysis for commercial real estate, development and project management, design of the built environment, engineering and construction management, property development, and other special topics in real estate.
These positions are one semester appointments, part time, non-benefits eligible with no tenure implications, not to exceed .40 FTE. A typical Faculty Associate course load is one to two classes per semester. Teaching duties include: preparing course materials, responding to and evaluating student work, and availability for one-on-one assistance (via weekly office hours for on-campus classes and electronically for online classes). Individuals employed as Faculty Associates may not hold multiple, non-benefits eligible appointments at Arizona State University.
Anticipated start date is Fall 2024 or Spring 2025.
Essential Functions: The candidate(s) must contribute to the Department of Finance’s mission in the area of delivering excellent instruction of real estate courses to undergraduate and/or Master’s students.
Minimum Qualifications: A master’s degree in business administration, real estate or related field and five years related experience; OR, any equivalent combination of experience, and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
Desired Qualifications: Excellent potential for teaching courses in real estate as evidenced by previous real estate business experience and/or teaching experience. Significant service and professional contributions to the field of real estate, as demonstrated by work experience or mentoring.
